Hello, I’m
Isaac Urman
Product Engineer
I take products from idea to production: the app, the systems behind it, and the infrastructure it runs on. Software that actually ships.
About Me
I'm a product engineer and team lead. Right now I lead a team of 15+ engineers building an enterprise CRM platform used by 1,000+ people. I designed its architecture and still write a lot of its code. Before that: Salesforce consulting across 6+ client organizations, a systems co-op at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and a B.S. in Computer Science (Data Science minor) from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Along the way I've automated billing systems, migrated company data between platforms, built real-time scheduling tools, and shipped AI-powered products. I like the unglamorous middle of software (data migrations, invoicing edge cases, deploy pipelines) because that's usually where products live or die.
After hours I run a production-grade homelab and a small game server hosting business I founded in 2018: real customers, real monitoring, real 3 a.m. alerts. Operating my own infrastructure end to end has shaped how I build and deploy software everywhere else.

02.Experience
Senior Software Engineer & Team Lead
Sep 2025 to Present | Remote
- Lead a cross-functional team of 15+ engineers building an enterprise CRM platform used by 1,000+ people, owning architecture decisions, code review, and delivery
- Designed the platform architecture the whole team builds on: a TypeScript monorepo spanning creator management, financial operations, and team collaboration
- Built the finance module end to end: multi-method payment processing, recurring cost tracking, invoice generation, P&L statements, and 2FA around sensitive operations
- Set up the observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki) with proactive alerting for container health, database saturation, and security incidents
- Built the CI/CD pipeline in GitHub Actions: automated migrations with senior-gated generation to prevent schema conflicts, PR pre-flight validation, and dependency checks
Software Engineer
Dec 2024 to Sep 2025 | Remote
- Built and shipped Salesforce components (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce) across 6+ client organizations in different industries
- Ran large-scale programmatic data migrations and wrote custom scripts for automation, permission management, and UI work
- Automated billing and invoicing workflows, taking most of the manual work and error surface out of monthly financial reporting
- Integrated third-party APIs and packages, including Accounting Seed, into client accounting and communication workflows
System Administrator Co-op
Jan 2024 to Apr 2024 | Lexington, MA
- Maintained and containerized a real-time work schedule web app (Node.js, MySQL) used to track employees across multiple laboratory sites
- Built the project’s CI/CD pipeline with GitLab Runner, replacing manual testing and deployment
- Added MySQL connection pooling so the app held up under concurrent load
- Administered the team’s Linux servers: updates, troubleshooting, and Ansible-driven automation
Backend Developer Intern
May 2023 to Jun 2024 | Natick, MA
- Led the redesign and phased rollout of internal SharePoint sites, wiring in PowerAutomate, Teams, and APIs to streamline production processes and cut build errors
- Migrated inventory, customer, and vendor records from QuickBooks to NetSuite with Python scripts
- Automated invoice generation and internal reporting by reworking the company’s VBA macros
- Gathered requirements directly from production, accounting, and sales teams and turned them into working internal tools
Computer Assembly Technician (Levels I-III)
Jun 2022 to Jun 2024 | Natick, MA
- Promoted through three technician levels in two years; as a Level III, led a floor team of 10 on large production orders
- Built and configured servers, panel PCs, desktops, and mini PCs for mission-critical customer deployments
- Set up RAID arrays and custom disk images on Windows and Linux builds, and wrote the assembly documentation other techs worked from
Minecraft Server Consultant
2021 to 2022 | Remote
- Consulted on Minecraft servers for Fiverr clients, everything from small community servers to networks with complex plugin ecosystems
- Wrote custom Java plugins and server configurations to match each client’s gameplay and moderation needs
- Rescued struggling servers with performance tuning, lag hunting, and infrastructure sized to actual player counts
Founder & Systems Operator
2018 to Present | Remote
- Founded and still operate a game server hosting service: provisioning, tenant isolation, and lifecycle management for customer instances via AMP
- Run the monitoring stack (Prometheus and Grafana with Discord alerting) so incidents get caught before customers notice
- Scaled Minecraft servers to 100+ concurrent players through performance tuning and capacity planning
- Split hosting between home infrastructure and VPS providers to balance cost against security exposure
03.Education
B.S. in Computer Science, Minor in Data Science
Sep 2021 to Aug 2024 | Boston, MA
- Built Journey, an AI-driven career planning platform in Django, React, and Docker, with authentication, job board API integrations, and a tuned backend
- Built LAP: Lift and Progress, a health and fitness tracking mobile app in Flutter and Firebase with real-time updates
- Coursework focus: relational database design and optimization (MySQL, PostgreSQL), operating systems and Linux server management, and web application development
